Mgr Matl Process Engineering 2

Materials and Processes Section Manager with responsibility for execution on Special Projects milestones requiring M&P support. Will have authority to assemble and lead a team material's and processes engineers to cover necessary engineering work to support composite primary and secondary structures, metallic, vendor supplied material certifications, approved materials list, and support forensic activities as required.
Technical responsibilities will include providing leadership and direction regarding M&P support of both composite and metallic aircraft structures, oversight and direction in enforcing quality of M&P work to meet program objectives. May participate on RCCA as required. Will have responsibility to ensure levied customer requirements regarding material performance and weight threats are effectively managed within cost and schedule constraints. Will provide technical oversight on M&P tasks and have technical oversight on sub-contract technical work regarding materials and processes. Ensure proper coordination with Q&A on M&P buy-off activities. Will work closely with program Chief Engineer and IPT Leads to develop effective schedule/plan to M&P activity.
Section management responsibilities will include insuring proper staffing levels for all tasks defined by the IPT, ensure necessary tools and processes are in place to effectively and efficiently execute the program statement of work. Will be responsible for all related personnel actions for section members including hiring and other staffing actions, performance reviews, coaching, training and development.
Essential Functions:
* Provide oversight of M&P work within the assigned program.
* Long range planning and staffing to support program growth and reduction requirements.
* Ensure proper assignment of people/skill match, follow approved processes, and implement sector approved tools.
* Accountable for metrics collection regarding analysis effort as defined by FHR.

* Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
Engineering or Civil Engineering with emphasis in material science engineering from accredited institution.
* Experience supporting administration of aircraft material qualification and material allowables specifically composites materials and bonded joinery.

  • Minimum of7 years of engineering experience in materials and processes
  • Minimum of two years as an engineering lead or manager within a material and processes ort similar organization.
  • Must have current DoD Secret Clearance (in-scope) and be able to secure and maintain PAR access.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Material Science, ME, AE or Civil Eng (Structures) with emphasis on materials science.
  • Prior composite fabrication experience and planning shop processes.
  • Prior engineering support of aircraft production line activities
  • Team player and demonstrated exceptional collaboration skills
  • Top communication skills both written and verbal${descr2}${descr3}
