This position reports to the Manager Accounting and Financial Reporting and will have overall responsibilities for sector financial reporting and accounting as well as assisting in tax planning and reporting.
Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Manage a team of 5-7 accountants and financial analysts
  • Prepare and review Monthly Management Financial Results and schedules.
  • Effectively collaborate with accounting, business, and functional teams to ensure timely and accurate monthly close cycles.
  • Prepare and support Quarterly Earnings Release data and narrative analysis. Assist Corporate Office with the preparation and filings of interim and annual financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Execute and assess internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the provisions of Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Prepare schedules, forecasts, and other documentation supporting tax filings for federal, state and local agencies.
  • Support the implementation of newly established and/or the assessment of potential accounting principle changes implemented by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Securities Exchange Commission, and/or any other financial regulatory entities.
  • Provide GAAP and international accounting guidance to various functional stakeholders.
  • Performs lease classification reviewsand quarterly reserves reviews.
  • Support the completion of audits performed by both internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain accounting policies and practices.
  • Support special projects on an as-needed basis.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, and 7 years of financial reporting and/or accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior managerial experience
Prior experience with Aerospace & Defense industry, Hyperion Financial Management and SAP software, Big 4 public accounting firm experience, Certified Public Accountant, and/or Masters in Business Administration preferred
