Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Ground Segment Section Manager to support the Triton and BAMS-D Ground Segment team at NAS Patuxent River, MD. You will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the functional group of 10-15 employees that are tasked with supporting Flight Test for Triton and operational flights with the BAMS-D programs. Responsibilities include staffing, employee engagement, performance management, metrics and process implementation. Promote and implement sector level initiatives and improve 1st time quality, affordability and technology innovation. Uphold NG values and behaviors, policies/procedures for self and team. Understand the needs and capabilities of direct reports to act an advocate on their behalf. Provide support, guidance and hold employees accountable when performance requires improvement. The Section Manager duties will require 10 -15% of the manager's time. The selected candidate will also provide operational lab support and ensure system hardware/software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, information assurance, and repair activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Candidate needs to have excellent communication, people and leadership skills along with relevant technical/product knowledge
  • Ensuring that system is made operational and available, at times specified by the customer
  • Collecting and reporting system maintenance data metrics to support Reliability and Maintainability efforts
  • Ensuring the system is configured in accordance with the Program's Configuration and Data Management Plans
  • Maintaining documentation and SOP's
  • Providing inventory control for system spares
  • Providing software maintenance, and installing software upgrades and patches
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related degree)
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with full investigation within the last six years
  • Triton Program or BAMS-D experience
  • Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) mission planning domain experience
  • 5+years experience in support of Test or Operational flight with unmanned aircraft
  • 2+ years experience in support of Unmanned Aircraft Ground Segments to include System Administration, SoftwareInstallation and/or Systems trouble shooting
  • 10+ years experience in a technical position supporting server environments
  • Advanced Windows administrator skills to include active directory administration
  • Experience in VMware environment
  • CompTIA Security+CE certification
  • Information Assurance experience
  • Linux Red Hat version 5/6
  • Cisco networking
  • Network+/Window OS certification
  • Prior formal management experience
  • Experience in contract management and/or EVMS
