Come be a part of our mission! Northrop Grumman MissionSystems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as aElectronics Engineering functional manager based out of San Diego, CA. What You'll get to Do: The Electronics Engineering Manager will lead a team of approximately 12 senior-level electromechanical engineers working within the San Diego Hardware Engineering organization. The successful candidate will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary as well as working to refine the hardware development process and tools utilized forBasic Qualifications: - BS in appropriate engineering discipline with 14 or more years of relevant experience. - Previous experience as a functional manager or technical team leader. - The candidate must have a full understanding of his/her specific discipline. - Familiarity with other Engineering disciplines including manufacturing, test, systems, quality, and electrical. - Knowledge of engineering process, defense acquisition process, and proficiency in process development and implementation. - Understanding of system engineering process, DoD 5000, and experience executing development activity from requirements through sustainment in defense environment. - Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: - MS in Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical/Structural/Aerospace Engineering with 12 or more years of technical experience and direct management of engineers. - Technical experience and leadership developing products for the military -Experience in Mechanical development of one or more of the following: airborne and ground military RF and digital communications products, test hardware products, infrastructure products. - Proficiency with common design and analysis tools. - Hands on experience with DoD communications systems, including real-time embedded systems. - Familiarity with other organizational functions such as supply chain, procurement, logistics, and mission assurance. - Current or previous Top Secret, SCI, SAP clearances.
