Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Electronics Engineering functional manager based out of San Diego, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

The Electronics Engineering Manager will lead a team of approximately 12 senior-level electromechanical engineers working within the San Diego Hardware Engineering organization. The successful candidate will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary as well as working to refine the hardware development process and tools utilized for program excellence and design assurance. Program Execution and Engineering Excellence are our driving forces. Candidate must have excellent written, communication, and emotional intelligence skills, and be able to work independently and within groups. Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.

The qualified candidate shall also be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on programs involving airborne and ground-based C4ISR. Our products are, by and large, software-defined, hardware-enabled radios used directly by warfighters and installed in such platforms as F-35 Lightning II and F/A-22 Raptor. Experience with electronics packaging and its associated failure modes is highly desirable.

The Manager will support and be accountable for goals including:
• Cultivate an inclusive and engaging workplace. Ensure employees' work life balance is appropriate.
• Workforce: maintain staff adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth. Plan assignments and fill program needs to ensure success but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work.
• Performance management: on an ongoing basis, engage with staff to identify, growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, etc. Execute to the Enterprise review cycle. Manage compensation and career progression.

• Create and maintain forward-looking processes which align to strategic goals.
