Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Level 2 Electrical Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Sunnyvale, California. The Electrical Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership and management of a team of engineers that researches, designs, integrates, and tests electrical and electromechanical assemblies and subsystems that include manufacturing equipment and control systems for new and deployed underwater missile and payload launch systems.

The preferred candidate will provide engineering oversight of multiple projects, prepare cost estimates and proposal inputs, develop and implement employee career development and training plans, identify and develop necessary engineering tools and capabilities, maintain proper levels of staffing through forecasting and recruiting, support strategic planning, execute internal R&D projects, and champion continuous process improvements.

Travel is occasional, consisting of visits to customer and subcontractor offices for program reviews and technical working groups.

Basic Qualifications:

An engineering degree is required with 5+ years of related engineering / project / program experience. The ability to obtain a government secret clearance will be required. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated abilities to:

  • Supervise and prioritize multiple projects, executing on schedule and within cost
  • Make decisions that impact the organization's credibility, operations and services
  • Comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
  • Write clear, concise technical reports documenting completed work as well as the discovery, investigation, and recommended courses of action for technical issues
  • Develop and present technical and program material to customers and senior management
Preferred Qualifications:

Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with Masters of Science Degree in another Engineering discipline, and 10 or more years of related engineering experience. Experience and knowledge about underwater launch system design and operation is a plus.
