Roles and Responsibilities:
The Computer Systems Architecture Manager's role is to drive technical leadership for the NG team from a tactical decision perspective, to the project planning, to generation of proof of concept through hands on development. This is an opportunity to lead a team through a multi-year effort to replace legacy mainframe functionality with new streamlined, scalable, agile technologies. They will work closely with decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the client. This person will also assist in implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Design and implement long-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining client systems and software
Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with Client goals and objectives
Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to the software development team
Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost opportunities
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility
Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems
Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans best practices
Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary
Manage IT staff, including supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
Review and lead software implementations

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with a minimum of 9 years of experience
5 years of experience in developing systems and software architectures
Experience with development/database tools e.g. Eclipse, SQLDeveloper
Knowledge of Angular JS/RESTful Services frameworks
Strong Knowledge of Agile and related tracking tools e.g. CA Agile Central
Strong Knowledge of J2EE using the Springframework, Maven, Jersey frameworks
Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis, OOA&D
Strong understanding of information processing principles and best practices (Business Architecture)
Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills
Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Knowledge of Release Management, CVS

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven project planning and management experience
Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
Exceptional understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
Experience with ITIL practices
Experience with JBoss Application server
Knowledge of using UML tools and the ability to train staff on using the tools
