Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector, located in Redondo Beach, California, is seeking a Mechanical Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.The qualified applicant will become part of a team that produces advanced hardware.

The Mechanical Technician 4 position performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • ? Assisting engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components.
  • ? Must be able to work with various chemicals and solvents.
  • ? Working from verbal or written instructions that provide methods and sequence of assembly operations. Using assembly drawings and diagrams.
  • ? Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • ? Perform a variety of tasks including mechanical assembly, specialty plumbing, electrical and other comparable tasks using tools such as wrenches, drills, machine tools, multimeters and plumbing tools.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma and 6 years of additional education or related experience.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, plumbing and electrical tasks
  • Must have experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
  • Experience working with common hand tools such as wrenches, drills, machine tools, multimeters and plumbing tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintaina DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An Associates Degree in a technical discipline or other 2 year technical training
  • Experience working with more complex tools such as cranes and hoists
  • Experience performing integration activities or repairs on ground or air vehicles
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
