Northrop Grumman Space Systems Division is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Mechanical Technician 3 located in Redondo Beach, CA with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the fabrication and development of mechanical engineering design, testing and modifications of assemblies and composites related hardware. Interprets detailed drawings for fabrication. Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical composite components or assemblies. With minimal supervision, technician must demonstrate good knowledge of the composites process including proficiency in the use of hand tools, drilling and bonding to carbon fiber, lay-up and bagging of parts to a variety of molds, preparation, bonding and assembling using 9394 and a variety of epoxies and sealants. Individual will be responsible for installing components critical to structural integrity. Individuals will assist less senior technicians with their assigned tasks. Individuals will interface with Manufacturing and Design engineering as well as Materials and Processes personnel. Individual must be able to demonstrate to Quality Assurance that work performed meets engineering drawing requirements. Works with chemicals. This position may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work any shift.


Basic Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands on technical work experience.
- Experience with composites or hardware painting experience.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Blueprints, Specifications or written procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree
- Active DoD secret clearance desired.
- Willing to work extended hours.
