Mechanical Technician 2

Performs production and flight line testing and maintenance. Repairs, modifies, installs, and tests mechanical systems. Performs duties / functions of test personnel in area(s) of assignment. Performs the sequence for installing, removing, maintaining, repairing critical components / systems working with engineering and senior technicians.

Performs testing, rework and repair in various fields of specialization. Applies acquired skills in accomplishing assigned tasks. Works with guidance from electronic data, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, technical orders, engineering orders, schematics, block diagrams and other technical documents on mechanical, hydraulics, power plant, and/or structures. Performs modifications and adjustments as instructed.

Performs mechanical maintenance, repair, testing and troubleshooting in support of specific test objectives. Assists in construction, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, and maintaining various types of complex equipment, components, devices or systems. Notifies lead personnel or supervision of any / all malfunctions, defects and damages to equipment, material and product. Position requires ability to interpret and use drawings and engineering documents with assistance to repair, maintain, or modify complex systems. Position will require domestic travel.
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
Basic Qualifications:

Associates, 2 year technical degree, or Technical certificationalongwitha minimum of 1 year of flight test/flight operationsexperience ora minimum of5 years' experience in Flight test/Flight Operations in lieu of the degree
Familiarity with structural and or flight test environment.
Familiarity with Mechanical Engineering, Assembly and Test Operations department (standard) operating procedures/policies
Active DoD Secret clearance in scope within the last 5 yrs. and capable of obtaining and maintaining special program access
Must be able to work from EWPs at elevated heights and for extended period of time.
Must be able to lift 30 lb.

Preferred Qualifications:

Airframe and Power plant (A&P) license with 2 yrs. Structural Testing experience, set-up thru test execution.
Familiarity with Hydraulic system, set up and checkout.
Active Top Secret clearance with investigation closeout within the last 3 years and program access.
