Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Mechanical Technician 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This position requires the ability to follow work instruction in MES shop floor control planning and visual aids to perform precision assembly of Composite and Metallic details to create complex structures.
The selected candidate must be certified in Composites Assembly and Fabrication techniques using hand layout, trim, drill, countersinking, and fastener installation methods. Possess competencies in the composite processes of layup, bonding, curing, assembly, and repair.
The candidate must possess the ability to interpret design specifications and requirements to verify acceptance criteria of the final assembly tolerances are met. Verify quality tolerance acceptances with the use of inspection techniques and tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
The technician must have suitable physical mobility and dexterity to lift components into assembly tools and use hand tools to perform daily assembly processes. Willingness to work in a cross functional team environment to improve Safety, Quality, Cost, and Schedule issues affecting teams performance.
High School diploma/GED
Must be proficient in the use of common hand tools and the use of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
Must be certified in Composites Assembly and Fabrication techniques using hand layout, trim, drill, countersinking, and fastener installation methods
Must have basic computer skills
Composite Assembly experience
Completed Certification in Lamination Training
