We are hiring a Propulsion / Aerothermal / Fluid Mechanics Analyst to join our Northrop Grumman Technology Services team in San Bernardino, CA. This role may have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing structural design, aeroheating, thermal response, ablation and erosion simulations in support of vehicle design and heatshield design.
  • Task may also include aerodynamic and propulsion CFD design and analysis of internal and external flow, and postprocessing of solutions.
  • Tasks may also include signature analysis of aero vehicles including optical signatures and RF signatures.
  • Experience with hypersonic vehicle analysis and wind tunnel experimentation
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems.
  • Position requires preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, and interface with internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical support to internal and cross-sector proposal efforts. Perform test planning, test support, and technical analysis of test data.
  • Perform cooperatively as a team member and when requested also as a leader of a technical team.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering anda minimum of 5years of related experience; or Master's degree with a minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated programming experience in EXCEL, MATLAB, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experiencepreparing, handling and post-processing large amounts of data for parametric studies
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher (U.S. citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Code development skills including FORTRAN, C, MATLAB and Python
  • Experience with CFD commercial packages, NASTRAN, Tecplot
  • Familiarity with industry standard heat transfer and signature tools such as ATAC, ASCC, CMA, FIAT, OSC, CEA, MODEC, and Xpatch
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
