Northrup Grumman has a Manufacturing Technician II position at our Promontory, UT plant working in the Sodium Perchlorate Manufacturing Facility

The Manufacturing Technician II performs hands on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing sodium perchlorate for use in rocket motor production.

Tasks may include but are not limited to Tooling/Assembly/Disassembly, Final Product Packaging, Chemical Mixing/Transfer, Maintaining cleanliness of work area and facilities, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost and scheduling of their team. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

•High School diploma or equivalent required
•2 to 4 years of manufacturing (product assembly/processing) experience.
•Must be a U.S. Citizen
•Able to obtain Employee Possessor designation from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms
•Must be willing to work off-shifts and weekends as necessary
Preferred Skills:
•Experience with mixing chemicals, forklift operation, precision measuring instruments and hand tools, computer operated control systems
•Safe handling of hazardous materials
•Job function may require handling of live propellant related materials.
•Basic computer skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Demonstrated skill and initiative in resolving functional or process related problems or issues.
•Skill in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and operating procedures
•Familiarity with weighing and mixing procedures and processes.
•Manufacturing experience including knowledge of supporting systems including ESI, ePIC, and Maximo.
•Engaged in continuous improvement initiatives. Utilizes employee cooperation and involvement to achieve area objectives.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills. Makes sound business decisions
