The Operations Systems Manufacturing Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

What You'll get to Do:

Manage a team of manufacturing and optical engineers responsible for Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) and inertial system manufacturing. The scope includes our Specialty Products Area (SPA) team.
Responsible for staffing, career development and budget management of this technical team.
Responsible for resolving technical issues impacting the products that are supported by this team. This includes setting short and long term priorities, providing resources, interfacing with vendors, design engineering and
management. Collaborate with internal customers to provide integrated strategies for resolving issues and improving product quality.
Responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics associated with continuous improvement and variability reduction with a strong emphasis on SPC, 6 sigma and DOE. Also responsible for developing and implementing a "Factory of the Future" concept within the inertial systems area.

MANUMS
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline.
5 years technical management or progressive leadership experience in a high tech manufacturing environment.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification at minimum.
Demonstrated written and verbal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or MS in Engineering.
Experience with manufacturing processes such as bonding, torqueing, electro-plating, laser welding, soldering, machining, fiber optic handling and fiber optic splicing.
Automated test experience both in terms of equipment design and test process implementation.
Experience in a highly regulated environment (DoD, FAA or FDA).
