Manager Quality Engineering 2

Manages a business segment program and product Quality Engineering organization. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the quality engineering team, responsive to program management and contractual needs, including quality planning and program performance, addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and program regulatory compliance. Specifically:

Direct management responsibility for between 7-10 direct engineering reports.
Assure highest quality products, services, and solutions throughout each program's life cycle.
Implement and audit Quality Management System (QMS) business policies and processes, IAW program quality objectives, continuous improvement, and contract quality requirements.
Ensures compliance with contractual quality requirements and customer quality expectations.
Work cross functionally to identify and facilitate initiatives for business, operational, technical, and administrative process improvements in support of the overall program and mission. success, with focus on reduced waste and improved process efficiency & effectiveness.
Ensure robust program execution through program plan and schedule reviews combined with critical thinking to verify all key risks have been identified and satisfactorily mitigated.
Establish key project and process indicators / measures to assess project success and process performance.
Deliver quality-related data / presentations to senior leadership, the Business Acquisition Process (BAP), Independent Review Teams (IRT), Red Teams, etc.
Participate in product / program nonconformance reviews and preventive/corrective action review board.
Develops and approves Basis of Estimates for program or product Quality Engineering plan/activities/tasks).
Evaluates compliance to program requirements and supports flow-down to suppliers.
May participate in program technical reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, TRR, CDR, IDR, etc. (as applicable.) along with participation in reviewing and approving associated technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.).
Coordinates with Supplier Quality to develop and implement supplier quality management and/or development plans.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors in Science with degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, physics, aerospace, or systems engineering.
Significant experience managing teams within one or more of the following areas; Mission Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing / Process Engineering, or Equivalent.
Strong in understanding and application of statistical methods, data / analytical expertise.
Strong written and verbal communication and formal presentation skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree.
Lean / Six Sigma Master or Black-Belt Certified.
Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical software.
Process-focused ISO9001/AS9100 audit experience.
