Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) is currently looking for a Quality Engineering Manager 2 to join our Global Mission Excellence team! This role will lead the Non-Destructive, Material Review Board, Tooling Inspection and Process Control & Testing Laboratory teams in Palmdale, CA.

This core manager's teams support all programs based from Palmdale Aircraft Center of Excellence with organizations that support all programs. This leader will develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

This role will have direct leadership over a team of 20 - 30 individuals and will develop staffing plans, capital plans as well as budgets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a D.O.D. Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • 5 years of Quality Engineering experience
  • Active D.O.D. Secret Clearance
