Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) has an opportunity for a Quality Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Join the Space ISR Division in its Drive For Excellence, and work with our team of experts in developing and delivering Space ISR systems and solutions that keep our world safe.

This Quality Engineering Manager 2 is responsible for leading the Mission Assurance function for an Operating Unit (OU) Team within the Space ISR Division as a part of the Mission Systems Sector.

The QE Manager will support Mission Assurance across the OU, including actively working on a specific program. The manager will lead an MA team responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality products and maintaining compliance across the organization and its suppliers. The QE Manager will support the OU director and program managers with all MA needs. The QE Manager reports to the MA Manager of the Strategic Forces Business Unit, who is located remotely, so the job requires a significant level of independence.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the OU Director to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Interfacing with customers to build trusted relationships and work through challenges.
  • Directing and coordinating mission assurance functional disciplines per AS9100 standards and other internal/external compliance standards and regulations.
  • Effectively managing a diverse team in geographically dispersed locations (Colorado and Nebraska), including professional development.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in Mission Assurance, Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of leaders
  • Record of increasing responsibility and leadership supporting mission assurance, systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, and/or program management.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance promptly. US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in an engineering field.
  • Strong understanding of the specific NGC Policies and Procedures impacting program performance
  • Working knowledge of Northrop Grumman PRA process
  • Technical management or program management experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Leader in a team environment with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
