Manager, Project Manager 2

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems/Engineering, Sciences and Technology - Western Region has a San Diego-based position for a Manager, Project Management - 2, supporting a Field Engineering Department and a Communications Program. This program, and this Department, supports numerous overseas locations, and involves heavy international travel coordination and international immigration coordination.

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced professional to Manage / Lead a strong team of diverse professionals. The Manager will responsible for leading a team of experts who perform all the International Travel Coordination, ranging from airline & hotel reservations, to Northrop Grumman international travel reporting and tracking. The Manager will also lead a team of professional who serve as the San Diego-based "help desk" for all Overseas operational and administrative coordination. This Manager will also be responsible for overseeing our organization's inputs and reviews of the supported Program's budget and spending plans and actuals. This Manager will report to the Department Manager, and serve as key liaison to the various supported Program functions, such as planning and programming, budget planning and staffing projections.

The successful candidate must have the ability to solve complex problems, be able to research company policies and apply them appropriately, and be able to work successfully in a multi-faceted environment within a matrix organization. This position requires knowledge of International Travel, International Immigration, and Field Engineering support. The candidate must be able to use standard desktop computer and Windows based tools to produce or edit documents, including moderately complex Excel Spreadsheets, Word Documents and Powerpoint Presentations. The candidate may be assigned to perform other additional duties as required in support of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. Experience with, or significant familiarity with International Travel and Immigration. Experience leading diverse teams in complex environment. Candidate must be willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines. Candidate must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, some of which may be outside the continental United States. Candidate must also have the ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and accurately in an active voice.

This position requires a final SECRET level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience includes education and/or training in International Travel, Immigration and Labor Laws, expertise with International Field Engineering program support, experience with Program Financial Planning/budgeting and Earned Value Management System (EVMS), and experience with personnel staffing planning/projections based on known/forecasted needs. Experience with/knowledge of US Military Operations is a plus.
