Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Manager Project Management 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego.

This job posting is for the Section Manager of Configuration, Data, and Change Management for the Autonomous Design COE Systems Engineering Center.

Essential Functions: Oversees and runs the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

You will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team responsible for performance of activities from Pre-PDR through System Integration/Test. You must have a good working knowledge of the engineering documentation processes, i.e. Change Request process, Programmatic Change Boards, Team Center Enterprise system, monthly Change Integration metrics. You will manage a diverse organization of 10+ personnel, including engineers, project managers, configuration and data management professionals. They will be responsible for leading the Change Integration/Configuration Management/Data Management team as well as all program-related statement of work and execution. As a functional manager to the team, tasks include staffing, employee development, establishing and implementing policy, program support, technical program standup and increasing the competitiveness of the organization. Required skills include exceptional communication with all levels of personnel from entry level to senior leadership as well as external and internal customers.

The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of all aspects of Change Management including Configuration and Data Management as well as Change Integration. You must have a deep understanding of system engineering processes and products throughout the program life cycle which is needed to provide technical leadership and guidance to these discipline areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years industry experience. Industry experience must have included leading teams, as well as program and project management experience.
  • Previous change management experience
  • Experience in Earned Value Management
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, SharePoint, and Teamcenter
  • Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) preferred
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, Mission Systems Engineering, or System Integration and Test
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Autonomous Systems, Autonomy, Low Observables, Electronic warfare, Advanced Sensors, C4ISR
  • Experience with talent recruiting, cultivation and retention
  • An active Top Secret Clearance with previous SCI or SAP/SAR access
