Manager Product Support 2- Technical Data and Training

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a management candidate to lead a 10-15 member Technical Training or Technical Documentation Developer team in the BWI Engineering CoE Systems Engineering & Product Supports' Technical Data and Training organization and perform individual productive work on program(s). Specifically, the successful candidate will lead this high performing team to develop technical documentation and training products for advanced military systems. These include sensors and systems designed in Mission Systems' Airborne & Sensor Network and Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors business divisions. The selected candidate will develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, operate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) environments, and collaborate across sector business areas, as required, to accomplish program and department objectives and goals.

The direct program work performed by the successful candidate may include IPT leadership, project consulting, proposal support, or other appropriate technical and leadership functions.
Specific management responsibilities include:
•Recruiting and retention
•Employee development (career guidance, goal setting, training, mentoring, etc.)
•Performance evaluations
•Compensation planning and coordination
•Policy dissemination and communication
•Workforce planning/forecasting
•Process development and maintenance
•Strategy development and implementation


Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in a STEM, English or Management program with 7 years of related experience (or Master's degree with 5 years of related experience)
•Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate diverse teams
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong problem solving skills
•Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
•US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:
•Expert-level knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, and underlying methods necessary to develop technical documentation and/or training products.
oRelative to technical documentation products, experience encompasses awareness of a range of military and commercial specifications and delivery format requirements, from page-based to database driven content, in a variety of formats and to required levels of details. Awareness and understanding of modular technical document specifications like S1000D and DITA for IETMs and common source data-driven content is a plus.
oRelative to training products, experience encompasses awareness of academic (ISD - Instructional System Design) and military standards and practices to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate courseware. Ability to adapt to requirements and develop alternative methods, and to collaborate with business leaders to influence strategies, are also required.
•Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret SCI with CI/FS Poly
•2+ years of experience leading functional, program or technical teams
