Manager General Manufacturing 3 and Global Operations F/A-18 IPT Leader

This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations for the F/A-18 Program and serves as the primary interface with the F/A-18 Program in ensuring operation requirements and activities are fully integrated and coordinated within the program. The role will be the primary interface with cost account managers to ensure program execution requirements are met. This includes assembly, internal suppliers, tooling and other Global Operation functional support groups. This position provides leadership that fosters motivation and communication. Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure on-time delivery of high quality, affordable products and services that meet all contract requirements and business objectives. The role will provide the program and team with cordination of core production capabilities and resources required to meet current and future program needs; interfacing requirements of skilled personnel, processes, facilities, tools and other assets needed to effectively and efficiently execute the F/A-18 Operations work share. Responsible managing and coordinating risk management and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for F/A-18 Global Operations aspects of program performance. Work in concert with other program leadership homerooms and shared service organizations, to coordinate, and support the continuous improvement of People, Products, Processes, Systems and Services. The position oversees projects or coordinates given tasks assigned to the organizational group and provides direction to ensure cost, schedule, and quality are achieved. The leader must provide objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines and general policies. IPT Leader will assist in representation of Operations to the Program and Program Executive Leadership. This Leader will also act as the primary customer point of contact for Operations and Program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Oversees projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group, including capital projection and outlays and provides direction to ensure cost, schedule, and quality. Facilitates meetings, conducts briefings, and provides updates to program and functional leadership. The position serves as a focal point for Production Operations affordability, proposal, new business, and execution efforts. The IPT Leader will coordinate organizational strategies with the program with seamless communication and execution of said strategies.

  • Working Knowledge of EVMS, CAM Role knowledge.
  • Degree in Business/Administration preferred or other degree with 12 years manufacturing/management experience.
  • Strong attributes in leading diverse operations team
  • Prior Management experience
  • Operations background/knowledge on major defense contract preferred(Program or Functional Role)
  • Ability to communicate and relate to personnel at all levels, from touch labor to vice-presidents and program managers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree and/or Certification(s) in a business related or technical field
  • Active D.O.D. Secret clearance
  • Ability to balance multiple and sometimes conflicting demands from F/A-18 Program Office as well as Global Operations homeroom
