Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Manager of General Manufacturing 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
The selected candidate has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the manufacturing activities of a given cost center including Safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives and factory accountability along with other duties.
Essential Functions:
- Providing direction and coaching to technicians and other production personnel in the assembly and manufacturing areas.
- Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
- Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
- Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma /equivalent with 5 years' experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance or related environment AND 2 years leadership experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program access within a reasonable timeframe as needed by the business AND proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Must be willing to work any of the following schedules: Monday - Thursday - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) OR 2nd shift (4:12 pm - 2:42 am) OR Friday - Sunday - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am)
- Aerospace Manufacturing experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
