Manager 2, International Trade Compliance

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager 2, International Trade Compliance. The Manager, International Trade Compliance is responsible for managing a diverse team of import/export professionals, including personnel reviews and staffing plans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plans, schedules and routes imports and exports, including monitoring the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations,ensuring related customer service, brokerage and customs transaction compliance.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products.
  • Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues.
  • Interfaces with internal and external worldwide import/export operations and organizations. Negotiates with foreign customers to develop handling agreements.
  • Acts as liaison with U.S. customs representatives to resolve problems.
  • Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities.
  • Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews of technical data, foreign travel, and export and import shipments.
  • Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems,questions, or complaints.
  • Establishes and maintains training and audit/assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Generates performance metrics for export and import processes.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience;candidates without a Bachelor's Degree but with 12 years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • At least 3 years of Import/Export experience
  • Licensed Customs House Broker
  • At least3 years of project and/or people leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience managing an import/export operations organization preferably in a defense related industry
  • In depth understanding of and previous direct working experience developing and managing complex transportation plans related to Project Cargo
  • At least 5 years of people management experience
