Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Facilities Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The selected candidate plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and site infrastructure. Gathers, reviews, and assures adherence to equipment specifications and compliance requirements for production equipment and facility infrastructure. Coordinates with external architecture/engineering firms, contractors and customers in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets, writes scopes of work, and acts as the point of contact for construction contracts. Comprehensively manages capital replacement and refurbishment projects associated with site equipment and site infrastructure. Identifies, develops and implements systematic processes for equipment and infrastructure preventive / predictive maintenance and risk assessment.

Functions in a technical leadership capacity providing guidance to maintenance technicians in all trades. Identifies, develops, and implements processes across the sector in an effort to optimize maintenance and risk management operations. Comprehensively manages a multitude of service contracts to ensure site infrastructure and equipment is properly maintained and serviced. Manages facility assets via a Computerized Maintenance Management System to include keeping all equipment and associated equipment parameters current. Identifies all maintenance team training needs and executes an annual training plan as appropriate.

Responsible for ensuring process adherence in both the corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Will require constant communication with maintenance technicians and management to identify, develop, and implement new policies and practices. Must have in depth knowledge of construction sequencing and be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. Candidate must also have a general knowledge of every trade, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire protection, Architectural, Civil, and Structural.

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and 5 years' experience in one or more of the following: facilities engineering, construction management, maintenance engineering, risk engineering, civil engineering, mechanical, electrical or other related areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Broad knowledge of building infrastructure and production equipment
  • Experience in scheduling programs such as Microsoft Project
  • Experience using Building Management Systems such as Trane Tracer
