Maintenance Electrician 3

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a maintenance electrician 3to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

The responsibilities for this job are (but not limited to):

  • Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment
  • Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords
  • Disassembles motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair
  • Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency
  • Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage-or-amperage measuring and recording devices
Basic Qualifications: High school diploma and/or GED plus 4 years experience in electrical component installations up to and including 480 volt systems.Must have the abilityto be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces. Must be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: A Journeyman or Master Electrician license, experience in low voltage systems to include fire alarm systems. Experience in other trades is a plus. Possess a secret clearance.
