Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator 1 to help support a program located in Aurora, CO.
The Linux/Unix Systems Administrator 1is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and implementing solutions to optimize the infrastructure operations. This individual will support a group of maintenance Software Engineers and their development and production environments. The Linux/Unix Systems Administrator 1 will help engineer upgrades to the current infrastructure, maintain all computer operating systems to current patch levels, install products as needed and perform security hardening of systems. Interact with networking and database engineers. Growth opportunities exist with future efforts to virtualize the current infrastructure. Ability to troubleshoot problems via a console on a server or workstation sufficient to have a support group make repairs is required. Knowledge of scripting and the ability to restore a computer from disks or backups is also needed.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree 0 years administering Linux/UNIX based systems experience or 4 years administering Linux/UNIX based systems experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI access ORabilityto obtain and hold a TS/SCI access prior to first day of employment.
- Adjudicated Polygraph (within 10 years) OR willingto submit and obtain an adjudicated Polygraph prior to first day of employment.
Current Security+CE Certification or ability to obtain Security+CE Certification prior to start date (DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification; IAT Level II).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI access with adjudicated Polygraph (within 10 years).
- Current Security+CE Certification (DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification; IAT Level II).
Understanding of hardware and software RAID building and configuration is desirable. - Ability to install software packages and patches.
- Perform OS tuning, understand networking, perform user management, perform security hardening, review OS logs as needed, and perform system backups.
- The successful candidate will have experience with scripting, particularly in shell scripting.
- Experience with SH and CSH variants, Korn shell.
- Basic understanding of PC hardware and peripherals, knowledge of networking, and familiar with network hardware and terminology.
