Laboratory Technician 2/Lab Tech 3

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions/reagents and performing routine reactions.
Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation.
Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.
Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.
Performs technical procedures in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.
Assists in energetic development operations for warheads, munitions, and rocket motors.
Assists in maintaining instrumentation and provides escort for contractors servicing instrumentation.
Handles explosive materials and liquid explosives on a daily basis (will be required).
Documents work in notebook or manufacturing record.
Supports and participates in various laboratory tasks, as required.


Basic Qualifications:

Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Must be able to transition to second shift, if needed.
Must have 2 years related work experience in a chemistry laboratory.
Must have Associate's Degree in Science Field.
Must be able to follow established written procedures and specifications.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with lab instrumentation including Liquid Chromatography, Spectroscopy, and/or Dynamic Mechanical Analyzers.
Experience handling/testing composite or energetic materials.
