Java Developer 2/3 (Jr.-Mid Level) TS/SCI with the ability to obtain Polygraph

Northrop Grumman's Cyber and Intelligence Mission Systems Division has an opening for a Jr. to Mid. Level Java Developer in our Chantilly, VA office.

In this role, the successful candidate applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. The successful candidate develops technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. This position requires extensive expertise in full stack development, best practices, processes, and methodologies. The candidate is expected to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve program goals. Experience in an agile software development environment is desired, and familiarity with SAFe is a plus. Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills are required, as the incumbent is one of the prime internal and external technical contacts for the subject domain.

The preferred candidate will have familiarity with web, thick-, and thin-client applications and a wide variety of programming languages, technologies, and platforms. Familiarity with data management, and/or designing and developing using advanced networking techniques is a plus.

This position is located in Chantilly, VA.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience, Master's Degree, or a total of 6 yeas of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Active/current TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Experience with Linux development
  • Experience with Java Development
  • Scrum Agile Methodologies

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience, Masters Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience, PhD, or a total of 9 yeas of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Active/current TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Experience with Linux development
  • Experience with Java Development
  • Scrum Agile Methodologies

Preferred Qualifications for Levels 2 and 3:

  • Experience with Open Source Software (Apache NiFi, Tomcat, Zookeeper)
  • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Some experience with Database Administration
  • Experience working with Docker Containers
  • Experience with Hadoop, HDFS, Accumulo
  • Experience in Data Ingest and Data Analytics
  • Experience with GIS technologies (Esri ArcGIS, OpenGeo, Geowave)
