Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Missile Defense and Protective Systems (MDPS) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for an Integration & Test Event Mission Director. The selectee will become an Event Mission Director (EMD) within the multi-contractor Integration and Test (I&T) Functional Area of the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) on the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The EMD will lead I&T efforts, and work with other organizations, to characterize C2BMC performance in multi-system BMD System (BMDS) tests; external organizations with which the EMD generally interacts include: other MDNT FAs; MDNT government customer (MDA personnel, Event Mission Managers, Test Campaign Managers, and support staff); the MDA Test Community (including the MDA Test Organization (MDA/DT) and the test arms of other BMDS elements); the Operational Test Agency teams working on BMDS.

The EMD will use System Engineering processes to lead teams of MDNT technical test staff and Operations & Sustainment (O&S) personnel and is responsible for the following: test event planning and test plan documentation; coordination of test team support and deployment; oversight of test resource integration; test execution; near-real-time analysis of observed performance, including anomaly resolution and troubleshooting; oversight of in-depth analysis of test results; and reporting of test execution results orally and in writing to a variety of audiences. Responsibilities as part of interacting with non-I&T organizations include, but are not limited to, the following for each event: working with other MDNT FAs to ensure testability of C2BMC test objectives and the C2BMC components of test architectures; working with the Event Mission Manager to represent C2BMC in MDA/DT event planning and test execution; ensuring proper C2BMC participation in Joint Analysis Teams' analysis efforts; contributing to MDA/DT reporting of BMDS test results. The EMD contributes to long-range test campaign planning as required.

The work location for this position is the MDIOC at Shriever AFB, in Colorado Springs, CO. Some travel to test locations, and some non-standard work hours are likely.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline (Math, Science, Engineering or Technology) with 5 or more years of experience.
- Active Secret clearance required to start
- Security+ certification required to start
- Familiarity with DoD System Engineering processes as they apply to system testing, to include software test methodologies and terminology along with associated test tools
- Experience developing software/hardware system test plans alone and/or as part of a small team, using overall and event-specific program objectives, functional/performance requirements, and planned technical capabilities
- Experience leading or overseeing the integration of a system under test and associated resources into a variety of test environments
- Experience executing planned test procedures, using GUIs and Unix/Windows commands; ability to execute commands and write test execution/analysis scripts in Unix and other languages
- Experience evaluating and analyzing test results in order to characterize system performance
- Experience presenting test results orally and/or in written format

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related technical field with 3 or more years of experience
- Familiarity with testing of Missile Defense Agency elements/component is highly desirable
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: operational ballistic missile defense (BMD) architecture and systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot; GMD, THAAD, AN/TPY-2, SBIRS); operational message formats (e.g., VMF, XML, TADIL-J) and associated log files.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following C2BMC functions a plus: situational awareness; track forwarding/dissemination; sensor management; engagement coordination/battle management; communications.
