IPT Lead (Manager Engineering 3)

The Azusa Engineering & Manufacturing organization has an opportunity for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead to lead subassembly development, design, and delivery for the Next Generation Geosynchronous missile warning payload. The Payload System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) IPT lead will be responsible for initial planning of ground assets to support eventual payload integration in Azusa. This includes ensuring requirements are flowed to payload design so that the subassembly hardware meets rapid integration timelines. This IPT lead will also work closely with the Systems Engineering IPT to develop test plans for all requisite structural and thermal vacuum performance tests of the payload. This IPT will develop test plans and test configurations, and flow accommodation requirements to payload subsystem providers to optimize integration and test flows. This team will architect the test and verification approach and develop the integrated approach to acquire data at the various levels of integration to ensure efficiency of data collection to support verification artifacts. This also includes development of Special Test Equipment (STE) and STE software to ensure data products can support verification requirements.

This is a new development program and the SEIT IPT lead will support all efforts relative to integration and test planning leading up to a Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR). The SEIT IPT lead will also lead follow-on proposal activities for the CDR to flight hardware delivery phases and subsequent program execution of those phases which includes first flight payload integration and environmental testing activities.

The selected candidate will have extensive systems engineering experience in integration and test and have a demonstrated understanding of integration of complex space-based hardware. This includes experience in developing and deriving requirements to ensure data collection meets requirements and test configurations are optimized to acquire the data while minimizing test time.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) Field
  • 10 years relevant technical experience including at least 5 years or project management experience with cost account management responsibilities as well as experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Active DoD Secret level clearance required and ability to maintain clearance throughout the duration of the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 14 years relevant technical experience
  • 8 years project management experience
  • TS/SCI level clearance
