The Azusa Engineering & Manufacturing organization has an opportunity for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead to lead subassembly development, design, and delivery for the Next Generation Geosynchronous missile warning payload. The Payload Design Integration IPT lead will be responsible for the overall integrated design between hardware elements that comprise the overall payload. This includes development of electrical and mechanical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between the sensor, pointing and control subsystems. The payload design lead will also be responsible for leading all of the environmental requirements and analysis for thermal, structural, dynamics, and specialty engineering (reliability, radiation and nuclear survivability, EMI/EMC, Parts, Materials, and Processes). The IPT lead will ensure interface to the host spacecraft bus including all associated requirements derivation and analysis verification products. This also includes development of all drawing packages for payload and subsystem integration, including layout and cable and harness. This position will also be responsible for ensuring technical specifications to the various subcontractors and suppliers are consistent with the derived subsystem requirements to ensure compatibility and interoperability between all subsystem elements over environmental conditions and life. This position is also responsible to deliver all analysis products to ensure subsystem to subsystem interface compatibility and environmental test verification products.
This is a new development program and the Payload Design Integration IPT lead will work collaboratively with the SE IPT lead and support all efforts relative to payload hardware requirements to conduct successful Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) milestones. The Design Integration IPT lead will also lead follow-on proposal activities for the flight hardware delivery phases and subsequent program execution of those phases which includes first flight payload integration and environmental testing activities.
The selected candidate will have extensive experience in hardware design and hardware integration in areas of electrical design integration, mechanical design integration, cable and harness, and environmental specification development. This includes experience in accounting for external environmental conditions in EMI/EMC environments, thermal conditions, launch vibration environments, and space and nuclear radiation environments.
- Bachelor's Degree in a S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) Field
- 10 years relevant technical experience including at least 5 years or project management experience with cost account management responsibilities as well as experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Active DoD Secret level clearance required and ability to maintain clearance throughout the duration of the assignment.
