The C-RAM C2 team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as an Interoperability Systems Engineer based out of Redondo Beach.
What You'll get to Do:
NGMS is seeking a multi-disciplinary Systems Engineer to develop algorithms and perform analysis on Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD)/Count Mortars, Artillery, and Rockets (C-RAM) Command and Control (C2) for an Army Air Defense Systems that includes defense against Manned Aircraft; Rockets, Artillery, and Mortars (C-RAM) program; Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS); and Cruise Missile Defense.
Task will include developing algorithms related to the following topics: track correlation, track merging, Kalman filters, battle management, ballistics, airspace clearance, and other topics. The engineer will also model battle spaces, simulate missions and analyze real data to ensure system performance. The engineer will support remote testing events at government test facilities.
A successful candidate will be a creative thinker, able to solve complex problems given real world constraints. The engineer will be joining a highly collaborative team, and should be able to work independently and also within a team. The candidate will have ample opportunity to interface with both other groups within the program, as well as with other contractors and government customers. A successful candidate will be a confident speaker who can clearly explain complex topics.
The position involves the development interface control documents/drawings for command and control (ICD) software systems. The position involves the interpretation of both military standards, short range air defense concepts, radio interfaces, radar systems and electronic warfare systems. The position requires frequent travel to Yuma, AZ or other locations necessary to support the C-RAM C2 contract. You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- 2 years of System Engineering experience with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 0 years of System Engineering experience with Masters
- Willingness to travel up to 25% time
- Demonstrated ability to work well with other engineers on a high pressure, schedule driven program
- Strong Design and Logic skills
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret standards
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience with MIL-STD 6016
- Experience with command and control systems
- Experience with software interfaces to radios, radars or electronic warfare systems
- Some experience with integration and test of software command and control systems
