Information Systems Security Officer 2/3

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Computer Systems Security Analyst (CSSA) to join the Information Systems Security (ISS) team in Oklahoma City, OK. The ISS team consists of Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs). The Computer System Security (CSS) organization has overall responsibility for providing security oversight to all Northrop Grumman classified systems under their respective purview.

This position will perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments. Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits. Assist in the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), through the required government policy (i.e., JSIG), make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities. Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards. Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports. Document the results of Assessment and Authorization activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the System Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M). Periodically conduct a complete review of each system’s audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct periodic vulnerability scans and analysis of scans on multiple production networks.
  • Generate and provide audit reports and develop Plan of Actions & Milestones as needed.
  • Conduct periodic vulnerability and/or compliance assessment.
  • Coordinate and compile application security related documentation and ensure standard operating procedures( SOPs) are updated and followed.
  • Provide information system penetration testing as directed.
  • Implement and maintain an effective security program.
  • Evaluate underlying vulnerabilities within Windows, Linux, and legacy OS environments.
  • Provide operational support and ensure compliance on all governance activities, processes and procedures, specifically the System Security Plans and the Information Assurance Standard Operating Procedures.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

ESCSO

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a level 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of security assessment experience or 0 years with Master’s degree (years of experience may be traded in lieu of degree).
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • At least 1 years advanced experience with vulnerability assessments and operating system audits; familiarity with NESSUS required for CSSA 2 and above.
  • Ability to interpret CVEs and determine exploitability for a given environment.
  • Strong understanding of NIST Special Publications 800-37 and 800-53.
  • DoD 8570 IAM-1 requirement.
  • Must be able to obtain additional program clearances.
  • Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security or CASP Certification or ISC2 CISSP within 3 months of hire date.

Basic Qualifications for a level 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of security assessment experience or 3 years with Master’s degree (years of experience may be traded in lieu of degree).
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • At least 1 years advanced experience with vulnerability assessments and operating system audits; familiarity with NESSUS required for CSSA 2 and above.
  • Ability to interpret CVEs and determine exploitability for a given environment.
  • Strong understanding of NIST Special Publications 800-37 and 800-53.
  • DoD 8570 IAM-1 requirement.
  • Must be able to obtain additional program clearances.
  • Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security or CASP Certification or ISC2 CISSP within 3 months of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with security hardening, assessment and reporting tools (SCAP, ACAS, HBSS, WASSP, Nessus, XACTA, Splunk).
  • Knowledge of RMF/JSIG, DISA STIGs and DoD IS security requirements.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • CISSP.
  • Preferred CEH, GIAC GPEN, and/or OSCP certifications.
