We are seeking an Information Assurance Specialist in Seaside, CA. The position will support the Personnel Security/Assurance (PSA) Division within the Defense Manpower Database (DMDC).

The candidate will:

  • determine enterprise information assurance and security standards.
  • develop and implement information assurance/security standards and procedures.
  • coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization.
  • recommend information assurance/security solutions to support customers' requirements.
  • identify, report, and resolve security violations.
  • establish and satisfy information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
  • support customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies.
  • apply know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
  • perform analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
  • analyze and define security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
  • design, develop, engineer, and implement solutions that meet security requirements.
  • provide integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
  • analyze general information assurance-related technical problems and provide basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
  • perform vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
  • ensure that all information systems are functional and secure.
  • Candidate duties will consist of but are not limited to:
  • Provide guidance to other team members
  • Assist the team and client in requirements gathering and validation
  • Author and present technical design documentation
  • Plan and lead major technology assignments
  • Evaluate performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success
  • Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree 10 year experience, or M.S. degree 7 year experience, or Ph. D 3 year experience
  • Experience with large interconnected systems
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills are essential
  • Excellent conceptual, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft product suite, including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio
  • Ability to work as a member of a team on complex tasks
  • Familiarity with agile and other software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with government environments and standards
  • RMF and eMASS experience
  • CISSP certification required
  • Active Secret/SSBI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret SCI clearance.
