Industrial Security Analyst 3/4

    • Linthicum Heights, MD

This position is for a proactive security or compliance professional to continue the development and oversight of a Mission Systems (NGMS) Security program for the sector's Global Supply Chain (GSC). This security function for Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) was recently stood up at MS to continuously assess, analyze, assist, and address the GSC security risks associated with the sector's global growth strategy, and develop risk mitigation solutions. The continued expansion of our supply chain in the global market, to include increasing reliance on non-US suppliers, presents increased and unique security and counterintelligence (CI) challenges. Part of the sector's global growth strategy is to develop and leverage the GSC through maximizing in-country suppliers across our global services footprint. Therefore, risk-based security programs must include an enhanced focus on the company's GSC and the expanding customer risk-management requirements related to international suppliers.

In the fulfillment of its global business activities, MS may use non-U.S. based suppliers. Much of this global supplier base utilizes second and third tier suppliers that may have ownership in a third country or even state-controls that may not be readily apparent. Some of these global suppliers may be directly or indirectly supporting classified US government or other national government programs and the subcontract/purchase order and or export authorization (e.g. Technical Assistance Agreement) may involve the exchange of classified or controlled sensitive information. In such cases, the potential risks to US technologies and Northrop Grumman programs are magnified. Traditionally, supply chain security issues, when noted, have been addressed at the program level. However with the move to a GSC business model that includes corporate and regional awards to maximize economies of scale, the need to have a comprehensive and embedded analytical sector security perspective to identify, assess, coordinate and mitigate associated potential security risks along the entire supply chain has become critical.

In addition, with the growing US government focus on risk management and reporting requirements for insider threat detection and awareness programs, counterintelligence (CI), cyber resiliency, and risk-based security programs particularly addressing defense industry global supply chains, companies need to ensure their Security organizations are regularly engaged and working closely with this critical function.
