The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Security Operations in Melbourne, FL and implement COMSEC requirements supporting various collateral and special programs located at this site. Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate must be an experienced security professional with an extensive COMSEC background and the ability to adapt in a highly charged and challenging work environment. This position will report to the Site FSO and site COMSEC Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, maintain, and administer COMSEC processes and procedures directly applicable to the management of COMSEC equipment, keying material, and documentation.
  • Validate program needs for COMSEC operational and contingency key and equipment.
    • Coordinate use and approval with Government controlling authorities.
    • Coordinate key & equipment requirements for new, planned, discontinued circuits with site Network Engineers.
  • Order, receive, distribute, protect, and account for COMSEC keying material and equipment under control of local account.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Conduct periodic checks/review of records to ensure compliance.
    • Submit timely status reports.
  • Conduct, report, and resolve semi-annual and local inventories of COMSEC assets.
  • Conduct COMSEC Semi-annual inspections.
    • Assist with site security semi-annual inspection process.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of Crypto and COMSEC related network problems.
  • Operate and maintain a COMSEC network
  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive COMSEC User Training.
    • Conduct and document approved COMSEC User training.
    • Conduct and document COMSEC related briefings and debriefings.
  • Prepare, package, ship, receive, and document COMSEC and related material.
  • Create, implement, and maintain local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
  • Perform COMSEC incident investigations and reporting as needed.
  • Support other security team members as required.
  • Work closely with government executives, security counterparts, program directors, and executives within other defense industry partners to ensure successful execution of program activities.

    The successful candidate must also be customer and team oriented and able to function with limited supervision and must have excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6years of experience in COMSEC and/or security experience or a Masters degree and 4 years of COMSEC or Security experience
  • Demonstrated experience with the NISPOM and NSA Manual 3-16
  • Current TS/SSBI
Preferred Qualifications:
  • COMSEC networking experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with willingness to assist in other security as needed.
  • Extensive background in classified programs and a thorough understanding of Government security regulations.
  • Experience dealing with all levels of management. Experience with JPAS, SIMS and DIAS.
