HVAC Mechanic 4

The candidate's duties will include Installing, maintaining, repairing and rebuilding, air-conditioning, refrigeration systems, Boilers and other HVAC equipment. All of the HVAC equipment is Commercial/Industrial and must be maintained per manufacturer recommendations and industry standards. Candidate will perform periodic inspection of HVAC to identify potential issues before they become major equipment failures. Will help develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance program. Will be required to have a complete understanding of how to use and read blue prints and wiring diagrams. This includes understanding all sections in the prints and how they relate to the installation of HVAC equipment and other building systems. Will be required to troubleshoot and diagnose problems without the aid of blueprints, wiring diagrams. Will be available to respond to afterhours Facilities Emergencies Responsible for all required HVAC inspections to include but not limited to Sacramento Air quality etc. Will maintain all HVAC and related logs and documentation for the site. Will support setting up contracts providing expertise to help writing SOWs for vendors to perform PMs, test and inspections on Chillers, Cooling Towers, Boilers and other building equipment and systems. Candidate will coordinate with these vendors in support of the site. Will participate in writing SOWs providing knowledge and expertise for expense and Capital projects. Facilities remodels, infrastructure upgrades and energy reduction projects. Will respond to after hour's hours emergency as needed. Will be available to support after hours efforts that cannot be performed during regular business hours. Will complete work per applicable building codes and safety regulations. Will support additional Facilities team EH&S requirements.

Help perform periodic stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items as required. Support facilities team with additional tasks as assigned for example (but not limited to) relocation of personnel, basic- Electrical, Audio Visual AV, Cubical builds, plumbing repairs, carpentry and facilities general upkeep. Will support additional Facilities goals that require working with other members of the team along with other organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

High School and 6 years additional education and/or AA Degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or 2 years HVAC technical school training and or equivalent apprenticeship/ training program: experience to include Journeyman HVAC Technician in commercial/industrial service and maintenance.

Ability to obtain/maintain up to TS/SCI level clearance.

Must have universal EPA certificate for refrigerant usage, Demonstrate knowledge and skills in all of the following HVAC trades… Refrigeration System… low ambient kits, hot gas by-pass all types of Freon (R-22, R-11, R134A, R-123, R-410A, R-407C, ect.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

Extensive knowledge of Commercial Industrial and test lab/computer room HVAC, including installation of Split system cooling units, Humidifiers and CRAC units.

Excellent communication and people skills. Position requires the ability to work with program staff, subcontractors and the candidate's maintenance team.

Proficiency in the following computer programs MS Office, Excel, and Visio.

Active Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level clearance.

5 years in Foreman, supervision and or project management.

Trane Tracer Summit Building Automation System/Controls Training/Certification.

Experience/Training on Trane split systems and Intellipaks RTUs.

Experience with Boilers 1.25 million BTUs and experience large Chillers and Chilled water systems/plants.

Liebert factory training.

Arc flash certification
