Excellent opportunity to be part of the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Human Resources team. The selected candidate will be the HR Business Partner to the EM&S manufacturing client group based at our San Diego campus with primary responsibilities to support the manufacturing leadership team and workforce as a strategic partner and consultant to help build organizational capability to meet financial and strategic goals. The position will be located in San Diego, California.
The incumbent will be the focal point to assist in the implementation of HR strategy, programs and policies across a geographically dispersed organization; including talent identification, performance management, employee relations, compensation, reward and recognition, succession planning, organization and staff development, leadership/bench strength development, staffing, etc. The implementation of these programs will be through strong leadership and project management skills and collaboration with HR subject matter experts. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for project management of HR projects, and must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, implement, and close multiple projects simultaneously on various topics within the HR body of knowledge.

Candidate must have recognized people leadership success and have a demonstrated ability to influence peers, and all levels of management. Change management skills are a must. Position requires large scale project management and success with interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, business acumen, and problem solving skills. Candidate must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to manage time and workload, prioritizing overlapping and sometimes competing objectives, and develop solutions to complex problems.
Candidate must have demonstrated success in strong people-leadership skills / competencies and an ability to help employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, create an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and build a culture that balances caring and accountability and motivate employees to their highest levels of performance. The ability to work virtually across teams is critical.
Basic Qualifications:
Requirements for a Level 3 are:
Bachelor’s degree required plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in HR or related field
Working knowledge of HR policies and practices
Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects to completion including organizing, planning, scheduling and following up on all project related items
Preferred Qualifications:
Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change direction when needed
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts
Manufacturing HR experience
