Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced military professionals interested in a challenging work environment supporting the US Army Mission as a Simulation Operator. This position is located in Suffolk, VA.

Become a member of a Team supporting the JS J7. The Simulation Operator works in the Opposing Forces (OPFOR) section. This individual serves as the functional expert conducting research and analysis on OPFOR ground forces, and provides the primary capability for the conceptualization, development, and credible replication of OPFOR ground units, weapons, munitions and tactics in computer-assisted joint and combined military exercises and mission rehearsals.

The Simulations Operator will understand the use of tactics, techniques, and procedures and how to control opposing and situational forces in computer assisted joint training exercises. Maintain certification in specified simulations including the Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF), Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), and JCATS Low Overhead Driver (JLOD). Assist in the accomplishment of training objectives for supported events by becoming knowledgeable in areas of the exercise control group, such as: scenario, event operational environment, Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), and Threat Concept of Operations. Conducts research on potential adversarial nation-states, non-state actors and other organizations posing a possible threat to the national interests of the United States and coalition partners.

Duties include:

- Prepare documents, (vignettes, test plans and procedures) and conduct simulation event tests in support of the joint event life cycle.

- Develop and execute the ground portion of OPFOR campaign plans in support of joint and combined training events.

- Participate in exercise planning and synchronization meetings to incorporate exercise-training objectives into ground campaign planning.

- Acquire and maintain proficiency in required simulation models. Provide simulation model training.

- Assist in the development and validation of viable simulation databases and participate in simulation testing.


Basic qualifications:
1. BA/BS degree; an additional 4 years' of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
2. Minimum of 5 years' of related military service experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DOD civilian equivalent.
3. Minimum of 5 years' of experience in planning and conducting military training for a service or joint/combined organization within the previous 5 years.
4. Knowledge of Navy/Air Force/Army military organizations and operations.
5. Skilled in all aspects of communications including classroom instruction.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
7. Ability to travel unassisted to CONUS and overseas locations to perform duties in a variety of environments as required by the program.
8. A current Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
9. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
10. Ability to obtain a valid U.S. Passport.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Joint Staff experience.
2. Hands-on experience in computer assisted exercises.
3. Combat Arms experience in either the Army or Marines.
4. Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
