Northrop Grumman Corporation is currently seeking a Manager Software Engineering 2 based at the new Grand Sky facility in Emerado, ND, just minutes away from downtown Grand Forks, ND. Candidate will be responsible for the functional management of approximately 5-12 software engineering personnel assigned to new business opportunities in software sustainment involving agile implementations, software maintenance, embedded software, and cyber resiliency. Key duties involve leadership in standing up this new office; establishing NGTS presence, processes and culture; hiring and growing a qualified staff; and developing new lines of business out of this office. Additional duties include staffing programs and workload forecast; employee engagement, mentoring, and career development; employee training and identification of skills required to execute on emerging programs; conducting employee performance reviews; and leadership and execution for a multitude of functional management responsibilities.
Must have proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Must have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members. Must have demonstrated mentoring skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward). Must have time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering degree and 5 years of related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience working with SAFe, Agile, or Kanban on technically complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manned and/or unmanned flight software and sustainment
- Experience with modifying software for cyber resiliency
- Previous experience in developing proposals, SOWs, and BOEs
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
- Experience in identifying, pursuing, and obtaining new work scope
- Previous experience in developing proposals, SOWs, and BOEs
- Previous experience in establishing a new office environment
