Global Hawk Sensor Operator - Engineer Systems Test 3

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Sector is seeking a Sensor Operator located at Edwards AFB.

This position will be responsible for in flight operation and becoming subject mater expert of RQ-4 Global Hawk sensor operators in the use of Block 30 and the Block 40 AN/ZPY- 2 Radar System that provides high resolution synthetic radar imagery and moving target indications; to include the construction of target decks, mission planning, dynamic re-tasking, collection of imagery and maintaining data logs.

Must be knowledgeable in image processing and/or in the integration and operation of computer systems and peripheral equipment.

  • Monitors/operates the Integrated Sensor System. Periodically checks setup parameters of sensors systems.
  • Responds to ad hoc and re-tasking as required by mission. Coordinates directly with pilot during imaging portions of flight; provides assistance to pilot in performing communications duties.
  • Coordinates with external users as required to provide data for developmental and test of all Global Hawk sensor systems.
  • Maintains data logs collected during mission, archives the data logs post mission, and disseminates to external users post mission.
  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
  • Coordinates integrated testing activities.
  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities.
  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Four years of related experience with a military background as a sensor operator/imagery analyst, or civilian equivalent.
  • Strong avionics and computer background preferred.
  • Engineering and/or technical degree are desired.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance required.
  • FAA Class III Flight Physical required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; applicants with a military background as a sensor operator/imagery analyst, or civilian equivalent highly preferred.
