Job Description:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Richmond, VA. The selected applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Global Combat Support System (GCSS-Army) team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer and stakeholders to determine system requirements and user needs
  • Analyze business process and application data to generate reports and metrics
  • Design, develop, configure, document and test software applications and business intelligence reports in support of sustainment activities and project management
  • Analyze systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and propose remediation steps
  • Provide systems engineering support to collaborative, cross-discipline teams
  • Participate in the design and execution of verification and validation testing
  • Support solution analysis and systematic problem and trouble resolution activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Position of Public Trust.
  • Minimum Education / Experience: 2 years of experience with Bachelors in Science or 0 years with Masters.
  • Skilled in data analytics with ability to generate meaningful reports and metrics
  • Intermediate level proficiency with SQL Server
  • Database development experience
  • Experienced in supporting software development lifecycle
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and concepts as applied to enterprise software systems and computing environments
  • General knowledge of hardware, networking, communication protocols, data formats and system interfaces
  • Able to decompose and allocate requirements to system components
  • Troubleshoot complex enterprise system issues and perform root cause analyses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to identify and analyze complex programming and process issues, develop thorough and practical solutions and present them to peers and customer
  • Able to adhere to NG design, process and documentation standards
  • Able to work effectively individually or as a contributing team member

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ERP System experience;
  • Rapid prototyping and demonstrations
  • Familiar with DOD IA constraints and guidelines
  • Self-starter, have excellent customer interface skills as well as ability to work closely in an engineering and software team environment and with personnel consisting of vendors, subcontractors and legacy system experts
  • Knowledge/experience with Agile development
  • Rapid prototyping and demonstrations
  • Experience with C /C# in addition to Java software development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to set and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work closely with vendors, government and military customers, and multi-disciplined teams
