Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in Patuxent River, MD has contingent openings for Flight Test Engineers and Data Analysts at all levels to work on the E-2D Integrated Test Team (ITT). This position is an Engineer Systems Test 3.

Essential Functions:

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking highly motivated Air Vehicle Flight Test Engineers and Mission Systems Flight Test Engineers and Test Data Analysts to support the E-2D ITT based out of NAS Patuxent River, MD. Candidate will provide support to all flight test activities, to include test planning, real-time data monitoring, post flight data processing, and reporting on test results for all Air Vehicle and Mission Systems developmental test programs on the E-2D platform. Candidate shall display professionalism, leadership, have a strong work ethic, work well with others, and be able to function as member of the E-2D ITT. Some travel will be required, to include detachments lasting several weeks. Positions are contingent on contract award and openings will be at all engineering levels.

* Development of test plans/test cards
* Participate/lead pre- and post-flight briefs/debriefs
* Monitor flights in a real-time environment for air vehicle testing or support via radio for missions systems testing
* Providing support to senior engineers and Test Conductors as a data monitor to ensure testing is performed safely and that all knock-it-off and safety of test parameters remain within allowable limits
* Plan and conduct test missions as an approved test conductor, which includes test deck preparation, leading engineering briefs/debriefs, coordination with scheduling, maintenance, and telemetry support, and leading the test team through test missions as the link between the test engineers in the control room and the test aircraft and crew.
* Provide support for post flight data processing and analysis as required to support mission objectives
* Provide support in generating data releases and reports to be provided to NGC and NAVY engineering
* Positionsare based in Patuxent River, MD but will require some travel to other sites
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline along with 5+ years' experience
  • Active DoD Interim Secret Clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in the aviation industry with some experience as a flight test engineer
  • Experience supporting real-time manned flight test in conjunction with the US Navy and have a working knowledge of using and creating displays with IADS
  • Hold Test Conductor Qualifications or be able to obtain this qualification through our training syllabus in the near future
  • Experience with requirements verification and metrics development
  • Experience working with the E-2D Hawkeye
  • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline ${descr2}${descr3}
