Fires Warfighting Function Simulation Analyst
The Mission Command Training Program's (MCTP) Fires Warfighting Function (WfF) Simulation Analyst provides the organization Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) Multi-Resolution Federation (MRF) functional expertise. The analyst provides functional advice to MCTP's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and staff, and serves as liaison for functional matters between the CIO and agencies providing models, simulations, and information systems services during training events. The analyst participates in the ongoing improvement of the Warfighters' Simulation (WARSIM); Logistics Federation (LOGFED); Air, Space, and Cyber Constructive Environment (ASCCE); and other JLCCTC models and simulations. The analyst does so by identifying and recording new software requirements, coaching software developers, and testing pre-release and released software versions.
The simulation analyst provides JLCCTC functional expertise, analysis, and workaround procedure development during workstation controller training events and Warfighter Exercises (WFX) in support of the MCTP mission. The analyst monitors the status of all federates and system performance during exercises; assists in first level troubleshooting and analysis and escalation of issues to the National Simulation Center and developer on-call responders; and provides simulation status and recommendations to the MCTP Simulation Specialist, Operations Group leaders, and MCTP Commander.
The analyst personally develops standardized programs of instruction and is responsible for testing and reviewing new and existing courseware developed by others in the team. As needed, the analyst develops and presents customized instructional briefings and other training to Northrop Grumman team members and MCTP military and civilian personnel. The analyst must maintain awareness and understanding of current and emerging Army doctrine in order to provide on-site or remote expertise, training analysis, and WFX support to MCTP as required.
Basic Qualifications: The Fires WfF Simulation Analyst must know Army Fires WfF doctrine. The analyst must have a functional knowledge of the Fires WfF as it applies to JLCCTC, as well as a working knowledge of the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and its integration with WARSIM. The analyst must also understand how WARSIM interfaces and interacts with the U.S. Air Force's ASCCE, the Army's Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM), and Army Mission Command Systems (AMCS).
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Six years of military experience as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Commisioned Officer. Familiar with current Army/Joint doctrine. Highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. WARSIM Workcell Instructor-Controller or MCTP WFX Analyst certification. Must have or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: US Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or MEL 4 equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE). Five years experience as an MCTP Warfighter Exercise Workcell Instructor-Controller or Analyst. Two years experience in design, planning, configuration, and conduct of large-scale computer simulation exercises. Battalion/Brigade or higher command or staff officer experience.
