Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Field Technician 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at NAS Whidbey Island, WA.

Candidate for this position will represent Northrop Grumman on the F/A-18 E/F/G air vehicle system technical challenges at NAS Oceana, Virginia. The candidate will be primarily responsible for all NGC ECS (Environmental Control System) & OBOGS (On Board Oxygen Generating System) systems, and will serve as an integrated team member supporting all aspects of F/A-18 Physiological Hornet Support Network (PHSN).

The candidate will be required to troubleshoot technical issues, and determine solutions in accordance with product engineering definition, and specifications. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to recommend actions to company, and customer representatives for a coordinated product solution. The candidate must be able to assess product needs, conduct technical training, and conduct product briefings with customers, vendors, and company representatives. The candidate will act as local on-site representative to customer's organization.

The candidate will possess the ability to integrate into a high tempo flight operations environment. This position will fall under the responsibility of the F/A-18 Fleet Support Engineering IPT in El Segundo, California. This position will require the candidate to assimilate with a diverse group of engineers and technicians. The candidate will need to be a self-starter for this position. The candidate must be able to document all activity and data collection, and communicate effectively.

Candidate should be familiar with reading and interpreting technical data. Must be able to lead and direct military and civilian maintainers with confidence and authority. Prior experience with fighter aircraft and flight-line experience is necessary with preference given to F/A-18 ECS/OBOGS experience. The candidate must articulate the ability to combine engineering knowledge with real world maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • M ust have a high School diploma or GED
  • 4 years related technician experience in sustainment with a focus on ECS & OBOGS subsystems knowledge
  • F/A-18 and fighter aircraft maintenance background
  • Active and current Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Direct military experience with F/A-18 E/F/G aircraft
