Facilities Planner/Estimator 3/4

The Facility Planner / Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the total costs associated with requested projects.

The position requires a great understanding of the construction estimating process to include a strong background in the construction industry to include commercial experience associated with the following: architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing background. The position will work closely with the project managers, space planning and project engineers to accomplish each estimate in a timely manner. This position is challenging and requires fine attention to detail. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, especially when facing estimate deadlines.

Responsibilities include:
Review estimate requirements/layouts; organize and prepare estimate packages.
Obtain the necessary information to put together a responsive estimate, as requested by the project manager and facility engineers.
Ensure the estimates are completed and delivered to the customer on time.
Responsible for providing alternative savings for the company on project estimates.
Communicate with team members regarding new and current projects.
Accurate take-off information to confirm quantities.
Present quotes and estimates to the Project Management Team.
Attends meetings with engineers and project managers to provide complete and thorough project estimates.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks
Maintain cost estimating tools including databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications to keep updated information on past performance and industry standards.
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Subcontractor scope and bid evaluations.

This position can be filled t either a level 3 or level 4.
This position can be filled at either a level 3 or level 4.
Basic Qualifications Facilities Planner/Estimator level 3:

6 Years with Bachelors; or 4 Years with Masters; experience in lieuof degree accepted, experience to includeestimating experience, estimating experience on commercial construction projects.

Ability to understand and comprehend blueprints/specifications.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Proficient in using computer software to estimate projects, excel, outlook and word.

Excellent ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization and with external clients and partners.

Professional in actions and appearance.

Solid organizational skills including detail oriented and multi-tasking skills.

10 Years with Bachelors; or 8 Years with Masters; experience in lieu of degree accepted, experience to include estimating experience, estimating experience on commercial construction projects.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Proficient in using computer software to estimate projects, excel, outlook and word.

Excellent ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization and with external clients and partners.

Professional in actions and appearance.

Solid organizational skills including detail oriented and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to understand and comprehend blueprints/specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors of Science or Construction Management Degree or equivalent estimating experience.
