Facilities Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Redondo Beach, CA)

Supervises employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, and/or general maintenance.

Sets priorities and performs forecasting and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Responsible for managing maintenance activities for buildings, infrastructure, plant equipment, and systems necessary to support successful facility operations.

Provides leadership for preventive and corrective maintenance activities, equipment engineering and reliability, housekeeping, landscaping, safety and compliance, work planning and scheduling, inventory and spare parts.

Manages a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees responsible for facility maintenance activities for machinery and equipment to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.

Develops and monitors budget allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed.

Oversees maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management.

Coordinates with leadership, personnel, outside agencies and programs to insure successful execution of maintenance activities and plant operations.

Will have the ability to successfully to employees and higher management.

Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance with SCI.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA degree and 6 years' maintenance, production and/or manufacturing experience or a High School Diploma and an additional 4 years of experience (10 years total).
  • Must have 2 years' experience performing in a lead or supervisory role, preferably in a facility maintenance position
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree
