Environmental, Health and Safety Analyst 3

Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services organization has an immediate opportunity to join the Enterprise Services (ES) Sector Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) department. The Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance Analyst (RCA) reports to the ES Sector EHS Operations Manager and will act as the lead for numerous EHS programs throughout the sector. The RCA will act as a health and safety compliance subject matter expert and point of contact for approximately 4500 employees across 20 domestic and international sites. The RCA will act as the EHS lead for the Northrop Grumman Aviation Division (NGAD) and will spend approximately 50% of their time working at the Dulles, VA hangar to manage all aspects of EHS compliance for both East and West coast flight operations.

The RCA will manage sector-wide programs such as the incident reporting and OSHA recordkeeping systems, contractor management and review, office ergonomics, chemical management, and loss control and lead sector working groups focused on EHS compliance and injury/incident reduction. Additionally, the RCA will serve as the ES sector representative for enterprise EHS initiatives working closely with EHS professionals from across the corporation.

This position requires periodic travel in support of EHS initiatives. Travel will include domestic site visits and quarterly travel to assist with NGAD operations in Southern California. Most travel will be no more than 5 working days including travel time.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Coordinate and manage loss control projects for the ES sector.
Manage work-related incident and injury intake for the ES Sector. Liaise with effected employee(s), managers, workers compensation, and insurance carrier to ensure complete and thorough incident management, employee treatment, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. Manage non-financial safety metrics for monthly reporting.
Manage all day-to-day aspects of EHS compliance for NGAD including but not limited to; employee training, hazardous waste management, chemical management, contractor management, SPCC, SWPPP, Fire Protection.
Champion process improvement opportunities across EHS aspects to improve employee interface with EHS resources (incident reporting, ergonomics evaluation requests, contractor review, etc.)
Manage employee-facing EHS intranet site to provide comprehensive and current resources for all sector employees
Author and deploy employee-facing communications and outreach campaigns for EHS initiatives (National Safety Month, National Ergonomics Month, Earth Day, Quality Symposium, etc)
Act as project manager for sector and enterprise EHS initiatives as assigned
Champion best practice sharing and learning between facilities, functional groups, and sectors
Lead new hire orientation EHS training for all ES employees.
Lead ES Sector health and safety working groups including but not limited to:
o Flight Operations Safety Council
o EHS Site POC Council
o ITS Safety Council
Manage EHS training curricula for all ES sites and functional groups.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field and 6 years of professional experience; 4 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
Proven experience in management of, or specific education/training/certification, in the areas of environmental, health and safety management, loss control, incident management and project management
Experience analyzing EHS regulatory compliance and safety performance trends and key performance indicators
Experience developing and maintaining various environmental compliance related materials such as SWPPP, SPCC, Hazardous Waste Permits and Manifests, OSHA logs, Employee Training Records
Proven ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences, from senior management to non-EHS professional and contract staff; experience providing EHS training preferred
Demonstrated experience developing effective written and multi-media communications related to EHS compliance and continual improvement

The successful candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of EHS compliance, with a heavy focus on the Health and Safety aspects. The successful candidate must also have an eye for process improvement, and a passion for growing the functionality of the EHS department as a resource throughout the area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field and 4 years of professional experience.
Professional Certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, CPE, PMP
First Aid/CPR/AED Trainer Certification
2-3 Years experience in multi-site Health and Safety program management
Proven expertise in creating and managing employee-facing communications (newsletters, presentations, intranet content, Sharepoint)
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Familiarity with international EHS regulations
Experience with office ergonomics/certification as an office ergonomics evaluator (COEE)
Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint 2013 (workflow and intranet site authoring/management)
Experience with flight safety or EHS compliance as it pertains to flight operations

Creativity in employee outreach as well as technical knowledge of various EHS systems (i.e. EMIS, ViaOne, Sitehawk) and Microsoft Sharepoint are highly desirable traits for a successful candidate.
