Engineering Manager 2 (Launcher Systems Test )
The Systems Test Engineering Manager will be responsible for the leadership and direct supervision of a technical staff responsible for developmental system level tests, test hardware and site integration, and supporting deployed submarine missile launcher at-sea system tests. The charter for the test group includes working with internal/external customer requirements to develop test system architecture, hardware and software design solutions, develop test plans and procedures, manage test integration activities, serve as test director for key tests, and produce test reports.
Primary duties and responsibilities will include providing technical leadership of the test engineering staff, providing engineering oversight of multiple projects, preparing cost estimates and proposal inputs, developing and implementing
employee career development, knowledge sharing and training plans, identifying and developing necessary engineering tools and capabilities, maintaining proper levels of staffing through forecasting and recruiting, supporting strategic planning, and championing continuous process improvements.
Travel is occasional, consisting of visits to customer and subcontractor offices for program updates and technical reviews. Travel may increase in frequency as system test activity increases during actual test events.
Position is located in Sunnyvale, CA
An engineering degree is required with 5 years of related engineering / project / program experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and military specifications will be required. The ability to supervise and prioritize multiple projects on schedule and within cost will be required.
Strong fundamentals in systems engineering, including systems test is also required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office will be required to perform assigned duties.
A Master’s degree in engineering management, first-hand experience with requirements management, design and operational knowledge of the submarine missile launched programs. A government secret clearance.
