Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is the prime contractor for the Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) program. The JTAGS-P3I team is developing and deploying mission ground processing systems worldwide. These systems receive process and disseminate Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) sensor data in support of the theater missile-warning mission.

NGMS has an opening for a Systems Engineer or Principle Systems Engineer to join our JTAGS-P3I team. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
The JTAGS-P3I team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a background and interest in systems engineering, integration and test, and system performance analysis. This position will be involved with requirements decomposition and verification, measuring system performance, evaluating algorithms and recommending possible solutions to issues.

Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, and test. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

These positions can be filled at either the Engineer Systems or Principal Engineer Systems Level.

Candidates must have a minimum experience of 2 years with Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline or 0 years with a Master's degree in a STEM discipline to be considered for the Engineer Systems Level.
Candidates must have a minimum experience of 5 years with Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline or 3 years with a Master's degree in a STEM discipline to be considered at the Principal Engineer Systems Level.
Willingness to handle highly technical and challenging tasking
Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate technical information effectively and clearly
Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
Candidate must possess active DOD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledgeable of Missile Warning ground processing systems (e.g., JTAGS, SBIRS, etc.)
Knowledgeable of OPIR mission processing concepts and architectures
Experience using an analytical coding environment (MATLAB, Python, etc.) to modify and use analysis tools
Experience using systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.
Familiar with models and simulations of sensors and threats
Experience with software and system level testing
Experience with Linux
Coding or scripting experience
