Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineer 5 SIGINT Thread Leadfor the Triton Enterprise in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego CA at the Autonomous Design Center of Excellence.
The selected candidate will be responsible for coordination and collaboration with diverse engineering design teams to complete the development and fielding of the Triton Multi-Int SIGINT payloads, being the lead engineer for the entire SIGINT thread from requirements development through operational fielding.
The selected candidate's duties will include

  • Conducting Systems Engineering activities focused on airborne SIGINT systems, from target and threat understanding use cases to requirements to concept development and implementation to AV integration, ground and flight testing and through transition to operations for integrated, multi-intelligence tools and technologies.
  • Leading IPTs in the concept development, initial requirements establishment, cost refinement, technical feasibility, architecture development and NAVAIR SIGINT mission utility analysis
  • Definition of work-processes and workflows, identification of optimization methods, risk identification, mitigation and contingency planning, and development and execution of verification and validation methodology.
  • Ensuring conversion of product requirements into NAVAIR SIGINT systems that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Leading teams that perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into AV and Ground Station hardware and software or engineering specifications.
  • Providing technical resource for specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capability requirements.
  • Traveling and supporting programmatic needs in design reviews and onsite integration with government customers and industry and government partners and subcontractors

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM area with 14 years relevant experience OR Masters Degree in STEM field w/ 12 years relevant experience
  • - At least 5 years in a leadership role on airborne and/or overhead SIGINT programs of record
  • - Demonstrated experience with NAVAIR SIGINT (both ELINT and COMINT) mission planning, collection management, signal collection and exploitation, and dissemination and distribution of related products and data to and across US Navy tactical systems and US National Architectures
  • - Active TS/SCI clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    - Masters Degree in a STEM area
  • - 12 years of experience in NSA and / or Intelligence Community
  • - Expertise or understanding in the NAVAIR SIGINT aspects of identification, development and application of signals intelligence sources, technologies and applications.
  • - Expertise or understanding in the NAVAIR SIGINT CONOPS for the various Numbered Fleets and the aspects of identification and application of signals intelligence sources, technologies and applications within those given world regions.
  • - Demonstrated understanding and experience with the national, US Navy, commercial and tactical collection, processing and storage systems for NAVAIR SIGINT employment.
